Welcome to the Make Believe Training Farm! This is a new and exciting time for me as my mother and I have just purchased a 20-acre ranch in the little town of Capay near Orland, California; conveniently located near Hwy 5, two hours north of Sacramento. We have great expectations of developing this property into a premier establishment for marketing and training Arabian horses in the northern California area. With over twenty five years in the Arabian industry I have had the privilege of working with some of the top farms in Northern California. It has been helpful in establishing my ability to make breeding decisions as I have personally seen the horses that have shaped the Arabian horse of today. I am developing a program to help owners market their horses. Staging clinics to help answer questions as to how an owner can successfully market their horse. Many owners have become involved with Arabians for the joy of raising foals but once the foal has arrived there is not much support or information on how to market it. My success in matching up buyers with the "perfect" horse that they are looking for and obtaining the best price for the seller as well as the buyer. My commission of fifteen percent is much lower than the standard commission rate. Agents should keep in mind that the seller has to make some profit from the horses they are selling. Owners will no longer want to buy or breed horses in the future if there is not much incentive for them to do so.
One of my main philosophies of being in this business is to have it be a joyful experience for everyone. I think the owners should have as much hands on with their horses and enjoy being a part of their transformation of an untrained animal to one they can take into the ring and win with. I feel more should be done to encourage more owner participation in the show ring and not be intimidated to show in open and amateur classes. For many years I have been training and successfully showing Arabian halter horses. I have watched and learned from the best to develop my own personal style. I believe in a non-abusive approach and have had great results in teaching a horse cues to stand up with all their natural, proud elegance. It is a training method not very different than teaching a horse cues for riding. It is a method that any owner or amateur can master.
I am proud to announce that I am currently representing a very fine selection of horses for sale at this time. These horses represent years of thoughtful breeding, training and care. If you are looking for the everyday companion to ride away the worries of the day, an addition to your breeding program or your next top level show horse you will find it here. If you are interested in Make Believe Training Farm representing your horse for sale please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to the coming years with high hopes and great expectations where make believe can become reality!
